The Garden of Venice: Treviso

Treviso area is considered the Garden of Venice and is the province of sport par excellence. A rich area where famous sports personalities such as Bottecchia have lived and where major sportswear brands such as Pinarello, Sella, The North Face, Lotto, Diadora and Geox all have their headquarters, as well as many other high quality sports companies. You’ll be taken on a journey through the history of the once powerful maritime Republic of Venice, which during its heyday brought culture, beauty and work to the inhabitants of the mainland. You’ll get to dive into nature and hear intriguing anecdotes. The tour covers an average of 50 km each day. You’ll stop at the best cellars and finest villas, where you’ll sample delicious local foods and wines. Highlights include: Medieval walled towns, Venetian villas and food&wine tastings.

Treviso, the starting point of the tour, is known as the “little Venice” with its charming streets threaded with ancient waterways. Then on to explore Castelfranco Veneto, a delightful medieval town with its impressive red walls and town of the mysterious Giorgione, who painted the Fondaco dei Tedeschi in Venice with Titian. You’ll travel to a unique area, which in just a few kilometers offers you sites of great cultural interest. From the Palladian Villas – Villa Emo and Villa Barbaro to the Temple by Canova, one of the most representative artists of Neoclassicism. A unique renaissance town not to be missed is Asolo, the former residence of Caterina Cornaro, a Venetian noble woman and Queen of Cyprus. Known as the “town of a hundred horizons”, it offers a feast for the eyes with its landscape characterized by beautiful stretches of olive groves, forests, cypress trees and vineyard terraces.

You’ll travel through the Prosecco Land, one of the most charming areas of the region, teeming with historical and artistic attractions, with small picturesque villages dotted here and there. Experience the lands of ancient castles, aristocratic villas, remote monuments, religious buildings and ancient thermal springs in this next part of the tour. You’ll discover Conegliano, Valdobbiadene and Pieve di Soligo, each representing a treasure trove of natural gems, art and architecture. We complete our tour returning to Treviso passing through the area famous for the production of red wines: the wines of the Piave area.
